Rev. Morgan E. Dixon
Rev. Morgan has been a member of DuPage AME Church since October 1989. Presently she serves as a member of the Youth Ministry Team that ministers to the 200+ youth of DuPage.
Professionally, Rev. Morgan serves as the Church Administrator for DuPage AME Church and is very instrumental in its day-to-day activities. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Morris Brown College, a Master of Arts degree from Columbia College Chicago in Arts, Entertainment, & Media Management, and a Master of Divinity Degree from McCormick Theological Seminary. Rev. Morgan also completed the End of Life Death Doula Training from Going With Grace and operates deathlightdoula.com . It is her prayer that as people of faith we will come to find a healthier relationship with death and dying.
Outside of the local church, Rev. Morgan has served in many capacities for the Connectional AME Church including the General Secretary Staff at the General Conference (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2021), the National Council of Churches as a denominational representative, and various other ministries. Rev. Morgan preached her initial sermon and was licensed in 2006. She was ordained an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 2010 at the 128th Session of the Chicago Annual Conference.
Rev. Morgan understands that in these times in order to ‘reach the masses’ we need to look outside the traditional means and embrace nontraditional delivery of the God’s Word. She can often be found discovering and implementing new technology tools for deeper engagement as well as enjoying great food and photographing life.
Rev. Morgan is the eldest daughter of Dr. James & Rev. Lana Miller; sister of Jimal (Riché), Ashley, & Preston (Jackie); and aunt to Peyton & Taylor. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The National End of Life Doula Alliance and Delta Omicron International Professional Music Fraternity, Inc.
Throughout her life, Rev. Morgan has been continually blessed and recognizes God’s hand in it all. Her life guiding scripture is taken from Luke 12:48, which reads, “To whom much is given, much is required.”
