Rev. Connie Dickerson
Rev. Connie has been a member of DuPage AME Church since October 1999. Since her joining she has been an active member of many organizations including the Women Ministry, The Class Leader Council, and the Gospel Choir. Rev. Connie has served for many years as a member of the Youth Ministry Team.
Rev. Connie preached her initial sermon and was licensed in 2006. Recently she was ordained an Itinerant Elder in the AME Church at the 128th Session of the Chicago Annual Conference.
Rev. Connie holds a MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago, Illinois and McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois, where she earned her Master of Divinity degree. She has earned an Associate of Applied Science degree majoring in Law Administration from Faulkner State Community College in Bay Minette, Alabama, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management with a minor in Computer Science from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois.
She is active in many community organizations. She is a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Infinite House, a temporary shelter for disadvantaged women.
Rev. Connie has gone through many trials and tribulations and God has always been right there or sent others to get her through. She accredits the nurturing of her grandmother, Mary Louise Dickerson and many others that has made her the woman she has become. Her life guiding scriptures are taken from Philippians 4:13 “For I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me” and Hebrews 13:5 “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
