Dr. Geneace Williams received a Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois and earned her Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Northern Seminary. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Garrett Theological Seminary on the campus of Northwestern University. Her scholarly writing integrates critical legal studies and theology as a method for developing new models and initiatives in achieving social justice. Her innovative work unites theory with praxis.
Dr. Williams is the author of Leadership Dash: Breaking Through the Finish Line, a thought provoking and igniting work that inspires leaders to answer their true call in life and create a pathway to legacy. This book artfully integrates substantive theory and principles while masterfully getting at the heart of how people become leaders of influence. Dr. Williams works one-on-one with leaders engaging them in a critical, dialogical process to help them chart a course toward achieving sustainable results. Her work in leadership development and transformation is guided by her life's principle: "A leader's impact encourages others to purpose."
Dr. Williams is the Founder of Higher Learning Enterprises, Ltd., a Leadership Transformation and Consulting Business. She has also enjoyed a distinguished 20 year career as an attorney and litigator. Previously, she had responsibility for a national litigation practice for McDonald's Corporation where she led in-house and outside counsel and advised senior company leadership on a variety of matters. Her work in litigation and brand protection achieved global impact, as she enjoyed the privilege of developing and refining worldwide best practices, including working with and training lawyers from North America, South America, Europe and Asia Pacific. She is also trained and skilled in conflict resolution and crisis management.
Dr. Williams has spoken in many venues around the world, both secular and sacred, and regularly serves as a speaker and teacher. Dr. Williams serves on the Board of Directors for GDC Community Outreach, Inc., and was elected to membership in the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel in 2005. She appeared in the March 2006 issue of Ebony Magazine featuring female executives at Fortune 500 companies and has also been named in the Executive Edition of Sterling's Who's Who. She is slated to receive a 2011 Power Award from the American Heart Association for her work with the AHA's Power to End Stroke initiative.
