Willis, Termayne Harper, and Morgan E. Dixon. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this wonderful evening of song as we seek to raise funds for our scholarship program.

The WD 2008 Campaign presents SOUL FOOD SUNDAY "TOP CHEF COOK-OFF" on Sunday, May 18th immediately following the 11:15 am worship service. Please sign up in the narthex to bring your favorite soul food dish (that serves 20). ALSO, there is a sign-up as a "Top Chef" judges for the contest. We will have five (5) "Top Chefs", so make sure you let us know why YOU should be a judge of DuPage's finest soul food cuisine! There will be modest prizes for winning cooks. CLASS LEADER SUNDAY! On Sunday, May 18th we will honor our Class Leaders and their faithful service. Our guest preacher will be Rev. Willie J. Cook Pastor of Allen Temple AME Church in Tampa, Florida.
Open DAY CAMP REGISTRATION begins today in the Narthex. The Summer Day Camp will run 7-weeks beginning June 18th - August 3rd. All children ages 5-12 are welcome. Our youth are getting ready for the annual Bible Bowl competition! This year's theme will be taken from Exodus chapters 20 - 40 and will cover God's instructions to Moses for his people on worship and holy living. Practices are being held Saturdays through June 14th from 1pm - 2:30pm. "And I have filled him with the Spirit of god, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts." Exodus 31:3
The MISSIONARY SOCIETY appreciates your assistance in maintaining our FOOD PANTRY. We prefer donations of food Gift Cards rather than non-perishable food items. This will help us keep our pantry stocked with current-dated food items as well as being able to purchase the specific food items needed to be able to give a well-balanced variety of items to those in need. We have a member looking for a live-in sitter, possibly a college student, to watch her 6 year-old, over the weekends in Romeoville. If not a live-in, someone who can stay over the weekends. Please contact the church office if you are interested.
COLLEGE SUMMER INTERN - CHURCH OFFICE
DuPage AMEC will hire a SUMMER INTERN to work in the church office this year. The period of employment will be from June 16 - August 1. All interested candidates should complete an employment application, which is available in the church office. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for answering incoming telephone calls in a professional manner, and completing special projects as assigned by the Church Administrator.
COLLEGE SUMMER INTERN - SUMMER DAY CAMP
DuPage AMEC will hire a SUMMER INTERN to work in the Summer Day Camp this year. The period of employment will be from June 16 - August 1. All interested candidates should complete an employment application, which is available in the church office. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for completing special projects as assigned by the Summer Camp Director.
TEACHING POSITION - SUMMER DAY CAMP
DuPage AMEC will hire a SUMMER TEACHER to work in the Summer Day Camp this year. The period of employment will be from June 16 - August 1. All interested candidates should complete an employment application, which is available in the church office. Candidates should be a professional educator, must be good with children, responsible, and mature, have experience working in a school setting, and experience writing lesson plans. The overall responsibility is to provide a spiritually sound and joyful experience for the Campers attending the Summer Camp; to show and share Christ's love through personal example; to give children, youth, and adults a fun-filled, healthful, safe, educational, and inspirational experience.
A CAPPELLA ENSEMBLE DIRECTOR
DuPage AMEC will hire an A CAPPELLA CHOIR DIRECTOR. All interested candidates should complete an employment application available through the church office. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for teaching and directing songs to the a cappella ensemble. Background should include formal music training. Previous a cappella choral experience is a plus.
The COMMISSION ON SOCIAL ACTION shall address the issues of social, racial, economic, temperance, world peace along with local community concerns. If you are interested in assisting in setting the direction of social witness in matters related to human relations and Christian citizenship and serving with this ministry, please contact Osie B. BAPTISM CLASS - If you've never been baptized or have a child to be baptized you need to attend the Baptism Class, which is held every 3rd Sunday of the month at 10 am in the choir loft with Rev. Lana.
The FOOD PANTRY is in need of GAS CARDS and FOOD CARDS in order to service the requests that have been coming in. Please get in increments of $25, $20, $15, $10. (or more) Thank you.
