Rev. Valerie Toney Parker

Rev. Valerie Tone Parker is the oldest daughter of Presiding Elder Louis and Mrs. Doris Toney. She is the mother of Justin and Kyle.

Rev. Parker has an earned BA in Psychology from The Johns Hopkins University, and a MBA in Labor and Industrial Economics from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. She recently completed her Masters of Divinity at Chicago Theological Seminary.

Rev. Parker preached her initial sermon in 1997 and is an ordained Itinerant Elder in the AME Church. She has served in Youth Ministry for many years in both urban and suburban settings throughout the Chicagoland area. At DuPage, Rev. Parker coordinates The Beautiful Feet Project, a global teen mission experience, which teaches cultural understanding to our teens and will culminate with a trip to South Africa.

Rev. Parker is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and SHRM (Society for Human Resources Management).

Rev. Parker’s ministry is based on the fundamental example of Christ’s life – ministering to youth who have been marginalized, hurt, and who have become discouraged. God has allowed her to minister hope and direction to young people, such that their life, as they know it, has purpose and limitless possibilities. It is her desire to continue ministering to this demographic here and abroad.

Rev. Parker is excited about serving at DuPage and working with the teens in the Beautiful Feet Project.
