Bro. Russell has been a member of DuPage AME Church since January 1994. Over the years he was very active in many organizations, including the Sunday School, Voices of Tomorrow and YPD.

Bro. Russell is presently serving as a Youth Minister working with the YPD and Youth Church. He is the 'Pastor' of Youth Church on 2nd Sundays.

Bro. Russell is pursuing his Masters of Divinity degree at Northern Baptist Seminary. He has earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Organizational Communications as well as a Masters of Arts degree in Rhetorical Communications from Northern Illinois University. Professionally he works in management.

His life guiding scriptures are taken from Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose" and Proverbs 3:5-8 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones."
